I know. I am always expressing that personal style is powerful.
However, this time, it requires extra motivation and effort to step into authority with your personal style.
Let’s Get Into It
What does it mean to “step into authority”

Embrace you, babes. Embrace the qualities that make you cool, wonky, whimsical, or even sexy. In my opinion, you step into authority by showing up as that individual unapologetically without desiring the approval of others because your aura is so authoritative – it speaks for itself.
How do I know if my aura is authoritative
Not threatening. It’s authoritative. Meaning it has a purpose that screams, “I am here, but I don’t have to make noise to notify everyone I am here.” People are naturally drawn to your energy, which is positive, peaceful, and inclusive.
If you truly want to know if you’re authoritative, you’re a threat to some without even being rude or a high leader. Your aura attacks their insecurities, and they truly can’t handle your power, so guess what? They’re rude to you, and they try to downplay you or rank them above you when it was never a competition.
Stay away from those people, or just kill them with kindness because it makes them look like a fool. Always.
This isn’t about the fake foes of the world, though. This is about your style.
So yes, the outfit matters, but

Many people can wear designer clothes if they save up enough money or can afford them. Many people can shop at the thrift store and buy vintage pieces or modern styles if they can afford them.
Style is never about where you shop. You can shop anywhere and curate a “look”. You can go to Dollar Tree and “create a look”.
To dig deeper beyond the cloth materials, the big labels and price tags, how are you showing up with this “look”?
Are you a big spender with a nasty attitude who makes it intimidating to compliment because you keep a snarl on your face?
Are you a woman who thrifts weekly, but fails to know how to wear your clothing sustainably, so you’re just chasing the next trend on Instagram?
You have cute clothing that deserves a moment outside of your closet, but you’re embarrassed to wear “the look”?
One thing these three people have in common is a lack of authority over their lives, because they’re chasing validation from others, and avoiding listening to themselves for better experiences in style and life.

Let’s take authority out. If you don’t like that word, let me break it down for you.
Stop hoarding your clothing, stop hoarding your style, and show up as the most confident fashionista yet with great stride and depth.
When someone asks you where you got an outfit, tell them. Be confident, it’s a retro find or something out of your mom’s closet – that’s intentional styling with a story. You’re stepping into authority by wearing items that hold sentimental values and are true to your roots. The main tibit is you’re not afraid to share the story behind it.
A few years ago, I didn’t understand how styling and storytelling played hand in hand, but it does. It adds more context to your personal style because you’re creating an enticing, cohesive look that’s organic to you.
Remember, anyone can go online and find a piece of clothing they love, mood boards, watch their favorite celebrity or influencer in these looks, but it takes an intentional fashionista to step into authority and embrace her style with storytelling and purpose.
How do you do that
You start with garments you already own, dig in your closet, find that shirt you thrifted a few months ago, examine it, and what does it remind you of?
Think about your childhood, what your mom wore, your father, think about old photos. You may like retro blouses because your mom enjoyed blouses while pregnant. Ask her! You may like wearing layered jewelry because your dad enjoyed gaudy diamonds.
Developing and defining your personal style is your personal playground to experiment and create looks that intrigue you, hold value, and set you apart from everyone else in this world – C.Alilijah
Stepping into authority allows you to show up confidently in that style and feel powerful and intentional with every stride.
Be authoritative this spring.
