Michigan Fashion Week kicks off for their 11th year.

Popular fashion event returns to the Eastern Market.

Michigan Fashion Week is back with a four-day fashion schedule featuring fashion shows, networking events and makeup demonstrations.

What is Michigan Fashion Week?

Michigan Fashion Week 2023 starts June 13 and ends June 16, it’s a four-day fashion series that focuses on networking, beauty, and fashion in Michigan.

The week allows metro Detroit fashion enthusiasts to network, shop, watch makeup demonstrations and see fashion looks from local up-and-coming designers.

Michigan Fashion Week started in 2012 as a way to showcase and highlight Michigan talent in fashion design, photography, art and modeling. The week is a collaboration between fashion designers, models, photographers, stylists and other professionals in art careers.

The organization also has The Fashion Summit which is a hub for learning and resources for the Michigan fashion industry.

Streetwear Showcase:

Skye LA

A savvy fashion brand that doesn’t want to box itself into one category. Skye LA wants to give fashion looks in all sizes and styles.

Yube Handmade

Hand-made crochet wear that’s sassy and for the grown and sexy. Yube Handmade breaks the rules of crochet and gives the girls something fun and different to stunt their style in.


A grunge streetwear brand that’s giving Michiganders that New York-inspired street look inspiration. ArtcareShop makes streetwear but makes it cozy like loungewear.

Jon Jamar

Jon Jamar is a Detroit-based fashion brand that focuses on art and creativity using classic designs and styles.

An out-of-this-world fashion brand that’s taking the scene in metro Detroit. Off World Fashion is a costume-based fashion brand playing with different textures to create avant-garde pieces.

Taj Cottage

Taj Cottage challenges high fashion with its own spin of uniqueness. They do this by incorporating culture and jewelry into their looks.

Who is Loren Hicks?

Loren Hicks is the creator and founder of Michigan Fashion Week, she’s a fashion enthusiast with a background as a brand strategist and entrepreneur.

Hicks has her own brand LOJO, featuring glammed-up designs of sequin jackets, dresses, tops and pants.

Events for Michigan Fashion Week:

Michigan Fashion Week has two free events planned before the runway shows.

Starting Tuesday, June 13, MI Fashion Week kicks off with a networking and media preview at Bamboo in Royal Oak at 220 S. Main St. from 5 to 8 p.m.

Wednesday follows with a shopping and makeup demonstration at Chanel Beauty located in Macy’s at Somerset Mall in Troy at 2800 W. Big Beaver Road.

The Streetwear Showcase Show is Thursday, at The Eastern Market Shed 3, it starts at 7 p.m.

Then the last show of the week is the High Fashion Show which kicks off Friday also at 7 p.m.

The shows will also feature local vendors and food trucks.
