Let me just say, fashion makes me feel alive. It’s my motivation, and I really would possibly love to be a stylist one day. The only issue is…. I also want to be a million other things. So for now let’s just think as me expressing that dream.
My first muse is Megan Thee Stallion, the artist has been styled by celebrity stylists EJ King and Todd White. The artist has been in brand deals and endorsements with Savage X Fenty, Fashion Nova, Balenciaga, Coach, and many more.
Recently I saw the star posted in a Diesel Fall Ready-to Wear 2022 look. I was obessed with the look and the collection, so I thought it would be great to create a couple looks that would be super cute. Let’s get into it.
THE DIESEL MILLENIA ANKLE BOOT
This ankle boot is basic but also has a classic touch that goes perfect with red tights. I was obessed with this combination and often paired it with mini skirts. It reminded me of a Fran Fine outfit from The Nanny. I could imagine Megan wearing big hair and curls with looks similar to this.
Some of the looks in this collection were about mixing streetwear into her wardrobe. We see her in a lot of dainty girly fashion but we never see her in styles that would challenge the narrative. That narrative being can Megan Thee Stallion pull off an entire streetwear outfit and still look sexy.
THE DIESEL SHOULDER BAG IN NAPPA LEATHER
This is the IT bag of 2022 in my opinion. Don’t get me wrong Balenciaga’s Le Cagole shoulder bag is everywhere but.. here me out. The throwback symbol on this bag is giving us early 2000s and I can’t lie I am digging it. I understand Balenciaga is giving the girls nostalgia too but the simplicity of this bag gives me life. I could see Meg rocking these bags like.. every day.
THE DIESEL MINI DENIM SKIRT
OBESSED OBESSED WITH MINI SKIRTS. Let’s just start there. I could see Megan set a standard with these Diesel mini denim skirts. LEGS FOR DAYS..OKAY.
Of course I would add my signature knee high sock look and knit top style to many of the outfits. P.S.. I really need a Diesel knit top with the oval logo.
EXPRESSING DIESEL’S QUALITY
Diesel is known for their high end quality in denim. We cannot put Meg in Diesel and not give her denim looks. That would make no sense…. Let’s do wide legged pants, jeans, pencil skirts and more.
The denim pencil skirt is simple but I love how casual it is. It reminds me of the 90s with the spaghetti strap tank. I also like how this collection on Meg could challenge the narrative that women with curves have a harder time finding jeans. Let’s be real, Diesel is an Italian brand which means .. European standards.
If this brand took on the challenge with their high end Italian denim to have a jean that fit curves with Megan Thee Stallion as the face.. That might be big. Diesel isn’t a household brand like Chanel, Gucci or Louis Vuitton. The exposure would be crazy, I mean look at her Coach reach. Just saying.
