Fall fashion is calling your name.

Cardigans, crewnecks, and sweaters are calling your name.

Fall fashion looks require creativity.

Let’s Get Into It

What type of sweaters are calling my name

Right now, I am into fitted sweaters.

Not cropped or oversized- fitted.

Meaning I like a smaller top and big bottom look.

For the last couple of years, I’ve worn cropped sweaters to go with my mini skirts and jeans, but I want my outfits to look different this year.

How to style fitted sweaters

I can’t stop talking about barrel-leg jeans; they’re a great fit.

Well, we’re still deciding that.

However, a few weeks ago, I bought chic collegiate-style sweaters from H&M to pair with my denim, and these looks are very elevated and classy.

They added a different look to my typical fall flair.

Styling fitted sweaters starts with buying the right fit.

I can’t express this enough.

TRY YOUR CLOTHES ON.

I know if you shop online, that’s kinda hard, but you need to try these looks on, or at least print out pictures to get an idea. Something like that, because trying your clothes on before you buy will save your closet.

How to “actually” style

Start with a bottom; it’s easier for me to build a look from bottom to top than vice versa.

For example, if I am wearing a pair of jeans, I know I want the sweater to rest right above my belt buckle. I need a sweater that’s not oversized and won’t cover it. I want the belt to show.

Have cute belts.

Okay, now you want a mini skirt and cardigan look.

I buy my fitted cardigans from H&M. Disclaimer, as always: that’s my day job! So, I do have access to pretty solid fall gear.

With a mini skirt, I do flip my outfit. I start with the top, then the bottom, because not all skirts look good with fitted items.

Let the fitted cardigan do the talking, then add the skirt and another layer.

Add tights for more flair and leg warmers for extra action at the bottom.

Don’t be afraid of a fitted sweater

Fitted sweaters can add value to your wardrobe and make you look more cohesive and stylish. Especially for office jobs.

Accessorizing can add value as well

Dress up your neckline; add a bit of razzle dazzle. A short necklace that covers the neckline but doesn’t dangle. Or a few bracelets to spice up the arm.
