When your creativity shocks you in the best way possible.
Each month, I create an editorial-style photoshoot to promote my blog, business, or test my skills.
October is spooky season, and I created a DIY self-portrait photoshoot to highlight my skills while also creating something fun and groovy.
Let’s Get Into It
The photoshoot

I decided to try my hand at a spooky fall photoshoot.
The concept was a scary teddy bear mask from Dollar General paired with a regular outfit I wore the previous weekend. I was supposed to take photos in that fit, but I thought it would be great for the self-portrait. It gave that retro vibe I wanted for that shoot.
So, how did I do it
I set up the backdrop first. A simple mix of cotton spider webs, a few tapes from Dollar Tree, and a red piece of fabric I randomly found in my stash.
Color is one of my elements. I love mixing different hues and textures to create a cohesive piece that makes editing fun.

The challenge

I am going to continue using October as a month of experimentation. Using elements to create content that is not only engaging but also fun and challenging for me.
Being a creative is literally about testing different concepts, combining your skills, and developing fun art.
Don’t overthink it.
We want to see your final product.
