Chipotle or Shake Shack?
Decisions. Decisions.
Normally, I would go to Chipotle, get a taco or two with a side of chips and guac.
Today, I was like, let’s be different. Let’s go to Shake Shack.
I wasn’t amazed by Shake Shack
When I first went, I wasn’t too excited. Didn’t really believe the hype.
Then I went again with a few friends, and didn’t believe the hype once more. Settled for cheese fries.
This time I was hungry, and decided on the chicken sandwich and plain fries.
Selective seating
I went to a window seat because I love sitting by windows.
It was my lunch break so I was alone. Well, I had my pocketbook with me and that was a good date partner.
No one was sitting around me besides a couple who were a few feet away.
Typically, I try to mind my business in public settings because I don’t want to invade others’ privacy or make folks uncomfortable.
I couldn’t ignore, though
As I am waiting for my simple chicken sandwich and fries combo with no drink, I begin writing in my pocketbook about my favorite topic: love.
I kid you not, I glanced to my left and the couple was praying over each other, and I immediately got emotional.
Tears began to form in my eyes because it was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. Something I’d never seen before, a couple praying over each other in public.
I needed to see that.

Cause mind you, I wasn’t supposed to be there
My mind was on tacos, but I said, “Let’s go a different route,” and I ended up seeing a sight that made me feel so warm and just hopeful. I know I need a love that’s not hard, it’s lovely in every capacity, but it’s also impactful.
What I saw between those two individuals was an example of love that I had never seen before between two adults, a man and a woman.
I grew up surrounded by love from my mom, my dad, before he passed, and my grandma, but I never got a chance to see a couple actually pray for each other. That was sweet to me; it was something I wanted to recreate because it’s impactful.
It was something I needed to see.
Building your ideal love
It should be from scratch now that I think about it.
I feel that every day before I meet my person, God is showing me a variety of ways that contribute to a safe love, a sweet, impactful lover.
You get quite anxious in the process and crave them more and more, but you realize how sweet it is to learn more about love and relationships.
That’s how I know God is not bringing me just anyone; he’s connecting me to someone I’ll be able to identify as the one.
He’s an intentional God.
