Stepping into 2024 as an upgraded you

Bring in the New Year with tips on how to improve your wellbeing and confidence.

New year, new?

Same you, but upgraded.

Just for a disclaimer, you do not have to change yourself completely every time the new year begins.

While it can be used as a fresh start, you do not have to start completely over. You can make adjustments, like starting a workout journey and giving up sugary foods but still enjoying everything that fits your lifestyle.

Here is a guide on how to upgrade yourself in 2024:

Step your wardrobe up:

Get rid of the old to make room for more. Start wearing those clothes and outfits you always wanted to wear and get experimental.

Ways to get experimental:

  • Start layering
  • Color blocking
  • Wear a new aesthetic
  • Start accessorizing more
  • Find a statement piece

Upgrade your wardrobe with new pieces that make you feel good and challenge you.

Know your dos and don’t’s

Write down a list of things you want to do more in 2024 that will captivate your mind and get you more productive.

Then, write down a few things you no longer want to do, such as scrolling on your phone, as soon as you wake up or sleeping super late.

Stick with these things throughout the year and reflect to see if it made a difference.

Write down your goals

Jotting down your goals helps give you something to look forward to for the new year. Plus, it motivates you to work and get things done to feel accomplished.

Your goals don’t have to be super specific or ambitious. They can be as simple as wanting to make your bed every morning or finding a day to wash and sticking to it.

Create affirmations

Affirmations are terms or phrases you say often to yourself for motivation and confidence. You can create your own or find a few on Pinterest to help you get through the day.

I typically use affirmations when I wake up, driving to work, or if I am low. Affirmations can boost motivation when everything seems like it’s falling apart.

Get creative and adventurous

Tap back into your creativity, do a DIY project once a month or take a small trip somewhere new.

Don’t let the daily 9-5 life overpower to where you don’t experience play.

How to get creative:

  • Try a new hobby
  • Plan a day for crafts
  • Try a DIY project
  • Paint an object
  • Get a coloring book

How to get adventurous:

  • Plan a weekend trip
  • Visit a new restaurant
  • Visit a local museum
  • Visit a local park
  • Go to exhibits

Step outside of your comfort zone

In my opinion, it’s hard to upgrade yourself if you’re staying stuck in a bubble. Give yourself enough grace to try new things.

Jot down five new things you want to try or even experience. It can be food, travel, sports and even new hobbies.

Refrain from spending the year doing the same things you did last year. Make sure to take some to create and change, the world is so big and life does have a lot to offer. Use it.
