8 date night ideas for Valentine’s Day for 2023

Date night doesn’t have to be expensive but it should be thoughtful.

I wish I could experience more date nights but according to my recent blog posts I am on a hiatus regarding dating.

That doesn’t mean I can’t help my readers with a few date night ideas.

Here is a guide on eight date night ideas for the special day:

Go to the museum

I have never been on a museum date but I would love to visit one with my significant other.

It’s an opportunity for good photos, education and you never know, you never know that your mate is really into contemporary art or history. It’s good for conversation as well.

Local museums in Detroit:

Detroit Institute of Art (DIA): 5200 Woodward Ave., Detroit

Charles H. Wright: 315 E. Warren Ave., Detroit

Detroit Historical Museum: 5401 Woodward Ave., Detroit

If history or art museums are not your thing, visit a selfie museum. They have different curated photo rooms for taking pictures.

Local selfie museums in Michigan:

Selfie Museum of Detroit: Chrysler House, 719 Griswold Str., Ste 170., Detroit

Good Day Selfie Museum: 22742 Woodward Ave., Ferndale

Detroit Selfie Museum: 27500 Novi Road., Novi

Take your mate to their favorite restaurant

Nothing is better than a super elegant or just casual dinner date night. It’s another opportunity for good conversation and eats.

To make it extra special you can take them to a restaurant they’ve been craving or one that’s out of the norm for both of you.

Visit a DIY candle spot

DIY candle bars and workshops are becoming super popular.

You can create a candle that smells yummy and always remind of you that special moment with your mate.

Urban Wick Candle Bar: 172 N. Old Woodward Ave., Birmingham

Wicksup Candle Company: 21700 Greenfield Road Suite LL5., Oak Park

Go to a concert

Find a local concert or attend one of your favorite artists.

Another cool idea is if your favorite artist is coming to another state, take a trip to see them!

Have a picnic

If you’re living in Michigan, scratch this idea off right now. Unless you want to have a VERY cold picnic. You can have a indoor picnic, but it just doesn’t hit the same.

For the folks in the warm states, a picnic date by the river or lake sounds perfect especially with a small cake, wine, food and a couple board games or Uno.

Indoor movie /game night

This is a simple date that allows you two to play games, watch movies and enjoy each other’s company.

Take a drive to the arcade

The arcade can be a good opportunity to take a break from life and just play a few games to release some stress as a couple.
