Is it waking up early?
Eating a full breakfast before you go to work?
Actually praying before you touch your phone?
What does a successful day look like:
It was “Career Day”
I have no “professional” title, I mean, I work retail, own a small business, and blog for a living.
What category does that fit under?
I would call it-
Self-made.
Ooh, that’s a word I never used before to define me, but it sounds good.
Let’s go with it.
So, it was career day.
I had a presentation
It was about 10 slides long, taking the kids on a journey using a “scrapbook”.
Started with a title page, a little bit of pics of MSU, Detroit Free Press, and even the City of Detroit era.
All the black and white stuff.
Then I threw in my content creator journey, blog stuff, and of course, 6:23 Detroit Shop.
The more pink stuff.
And I tried to add a quote, but I forgot to add it to my final slide deck. I saved it as a PDF, typical artsy-ish.
I also gave the students a list of organizations to work with!
The youth are inspiring.
AT HOME PROJECTS
I needed to decompress for a bit.
There’s nothing like decompressing for a bit using a tool.
Something to calm you down.
Recenter you.
An at-home project.

Growth in the photos
Learning the basics to add details makes it unique. That’s catching gratitude through interactions, having grace, and spreading kindness in some capacity.
Not being able to show up in different spaces just for a few.
Not overdo.
Just there when it’s time and making a difference.
It’s 25
I know, by now most would be tired of hearing about turning 25. I am treating it like a revolution, and that’s almost too much. It’s more so a season of growth, becoming someone who is maturing from their past mistakes and moving forward. No, it’s not simple, nor is it a walk in the park on a random Monday. Sometimes it’s a Thursday or even a Friday. It’s Friyay after all.
That’s what 25 feels like.
It’s a success, but it comes with trying moments. That carries you beyond.
If we’re writing that story.
It’s a beautiful one.
With love,
C.Alilijah
