Your creativity. Give your creativity an hour.
Monday was blah. Michigan weather is so dreary, and we’re in March: no sun, very cold, and a drastic wind. I can’t complain because last year was rain, more rain, and RAIN.
What do you do when the weather is so poo and your mood is too?
You CREATE.
What did I create today
Some new images for my blog promo.
I had just gotten home from a Kroger run and was feeling a bit down.
Eating a plate of cold pasta, I thought, what if I went to my space and did a quick self-portrait as a pick-me-up?
I liked my outfit, my curls turned out cute today, and I needed new promo photos. Plus, my backdrop and lighting were already set up.
The concept
White backdrop, nothing fancy, because I wanted my top and jewelry to be the main focus.
I set up my tripod and pulled my stool in front of the backdrop.
If you haven’t noticed by now, I’ve been a little MIA from taking pictures and posting a bit because I’ve been focusing on the blog!
Stepping back into my creativity

It showed in the first photos that I was unhappy, or I’d been disconnected from my creativity. I am expressing myself through my writing, but I haven’t been consistent with self-portraits and street fashion photos lately.
I looked sad, unsure, and not very confident in what I was doing.
There’s a photo of my late aunt hanging in my space, and when I looked over at it, it’s like she screamed at me, “Girl, you gotta give a little more!”

I added props

Creativity is a never-ending process. It starts with an idea, a concept, but to fully reach your potential and unlock the next level, you need to add, think outside the box. Think beyond what’s in front of you.
My original photos were fine, but I looked like I was just in front of a blank canvas until I made it my own.
The results

Now, adding the props were the lettuce and cheese. The edits added depth, emotion, and personality.
Do you see how this all came together?
As I said, this is just for the blog, but I was able to create from a blank canvas and use all my techniques.
A gloomy day turned beautiful by tapping back into my ideas, my creativity, and confidence.
Let’s Talk About It
