Think back on your most memorable road trip.
In 2019, my college newspaper had an opportunity to attend an event for journalism students across the country.
We drove from Michigan to Washington, D.C. in less than a day and it was amazing.
It was my first time on a road trip, going away for a few hours.
The drive was through Ohio and Pennsylvania, and I was able to see the mountains, which was an iconic view.
My ears constantly popped through the mountains, but it was a surreal feeling. I hadn’t experienced that before, either.
I wrote in my journal, I listened to music, and I took naps!
We stopped a few times for bathroom breaks and to grab food. The pit stops were unique and different to me.
It was a fun trip, an experience to not only celebrate journalism but also visit again and see something unique. We toured the former Newseum, a museum dedicated to news.
That’s a road trip I would love to do again with my family, friends or future boyfriend.
The scenery is what really got me. It was during the fall, so the leaves were turning and it was just gorgeous.
See you soon!
