Kaytranada is king.
He will be at my wedding.
Yup.
Let’s Get Into It
The experience
This is for whoever finds it.
Literally.
Why am I a Kaytranada fan?
It started years ago. Not a trend.
I started listening to Kaytranada before I even knew Kaytra. I thought he was a part of the Internet because I heard a feature and fell in love.
He’s totally not a part of The Internet.
Who is Kaytranada
A Canadian music producer who creates house-electronic type music. That’s as simple as I can get. He’s my music soul friend right now.
I feel his music. It’s hard to explain, but I know a Kaytra beat.
The experience
I went to my first Kaytra concert in 2021. If he comes to Detroit, I’m always there in some capacity.
It’s a musical concert full of life, good energy, sounds and peace.
At a Kaytranada experience, expect good audio, energy and vibes.
It’s dancing, singing along and valuing the hits.
His music is alive
Rather, it’s 80s disco house inspired or modern day…
Kaytra gives you a bit of everything.
His music makes you feel in real time.
It’s music that is danceable, whether you know the lyrics or not.
As my mother would say, it’s calm, which is true.
Kaytranada’s music is calm and smooth. It puts you in a great mood. Makes you want to get loose in a peaceful way and dance along to the beats.

You don’t have to know the lyrics
You can learn a few lyrics from various songs, but you can enjoy the beat, the highs, and the lows.
His music is pretty PG-13 and features a variety of artists, including Teedra Moses, Estelle, TLC, and Mariah The Scientist.
Rather, it’s a live mix of the studio version; Kaytra has you covered.
My top five
Here are my favorite Kaytra songs. In no particular order.
- “Vivid Dreams” featuring River Tiber
- “September 21st”
- “Culture” featuring Teedra Moses
- “Pressure”
- “Chances” featuring Shay Lia
These songs are groovy, feel-good tunes that make you want to dance with your friends and express your skills.
Go to a concert
Whether it’s Kaytranada or not, go to a concert. Find a concert, an outfit, and book the opportunity. It’s okay to go with friends and alone.
