September, a month of growth and prosperity : Diaries of Chan

My month as a fashion blogger owning a small business!

Another month of growth and new beginnings.

September is such a month of regrouping from summer and decompressing for fall. I spent the majority of my month working with Techtown Detroit for my small business.

Favorite Outfit Of The Month

Bringing in the fall fashion with a plaid skirt and graphic tee look paired with knee boots.

This look is a casual style that I would wear to the coffee shop, library or an event!

Foodie Finds

Aldi’s Charcuterie Shop is BACK!

I love being snuggled in a blanket on a fall evening, enjoying Fontina wine paired with a glass of sweet red wine!

Business Savvy

My small business, 6:23 Detroit Shop did their big one with Techtown Detroit. Our business learned, experimented and grew during their 8-week course.

Techtown is a non-profit organization based in Detroit that serves the community by creating opportunities to service entrepreneurs, host organizations and be a pillar for success.

Their Retail Bootcamp Cohort is an 8-week-long program that allows individuals to learn the fundamentals of business.

Where Did I Go?

For Detroit Month of Design, I visited local designer Taylor Childs Studio’s Fashion Experience.

It was held at her family’s barbershop, The Village Beauty and Barber, and was an experience of fashion, culture and Black hair. Childs is a Michigan-based designer who creates artwork out of fabric and turns it into wearable pieces.

Becoming more stern

This was a month of being careful and mindful with my time. Meaning, I chose activities that made me feel comfortable, true to me and didn’t overexert myself to opportunities that didn’t align with my life.

I was careful with my time and did the things that Chandra wanted to do.

Shopaholic Chan

September was a month of special finds. I went to a thrift store that shocked my world!

I found Disney classics! From Hannah Montana to The Cheetah Girls, the little girl in me screamed with joy when I found these books.

A few years ago, my basement flooded and destroyed a bunch of my books, finding these again was super tea!
