Royal Oak Taco Fest : 2025 was a hit!

Spent my weekend enjoying tacos at the Royal Oak Taco Festival!

I finally found my taco haven>

Good guac and yummy tacos! Count me in, this year’s Royal Oak Taco Fest was a success for me. I tried a few different restaurants and found myself enjoying my food!

Let’s get into it:

What is the Royal Oak Taco Fest?

Views of the Royal Oak Taco Fest from Saturday, July 5!

The Royal Oak Taco Fest is a weekend-long festival featuring a variety of taco truck vendors selling quesadillas, birria, chicken and shrimp tacos, tequila, and lemonade. This festival also features live music, additional food vendors like Egg Roll Diva, Caribbean-inspired foods and vendors selling jewelry and apparel.

In addition to bounce houses, mechanical bulls, food eating contests, crafts and face painting for a family-friendly event!

What did I eat?

I am a flour shell taco girly, so WARNING – this is not a corn shell appreciation post.

Flour shell. Chicken. Lettuce. Cheese.

In that order and possibly a dash of salsa!

Very yummy taco that was simple but delicious in taste and quality!

Tacos El Caballo

I enjoyed the size of these tacos! However, I ate them too quickly after my first taco, and it made me feel queasy.

Guac N Roll

As someone who just started eating guacamole, this was the perfect guac for me. Not too many onions, I couldn’t taste cilantro if there was any! It was of great quality and digestible.

Price: $13.56

Egg Roll Diva

Before I left, I made sure to grab a corned beef egg roll from Egg Roll Diva. As usual, it was amazing!!

Price: $12 for TWO

How were the vibes?

I went Saturday around 3 p.m. and there weren’t big crowds or long lines. You were able to move around freely and find spaces to eat!

The vibes were great, but the heat was too demanding! I felt like I was smothering in it and my clothes were getting soaked in sweat! EWW

Vendors were also present selling clothing items, jewelry, BBQ sauce and additional novelty goods.

What to know for next year:

Bring a fan. Bring a fan. Bring a FAN.

And possibly a seat too?

While there was a ton of seating, they were mainly in the heat… so if you feel like bringing a chair, I would. (If they let you)

Stay HYDRATED! Be sure to stay hydrated with water and other liquids to help you cope with the heat.

Cash or card?

Most vendors offered a variety of payment options.

I also suggest buying your ticket ahead of time to save a few dollars. My ticket was $8 in advance, while at the entrance they were $12.

Parking?

I parked in the Center Street Parking Garage for $5 and experienced no struggles arriving or departing.

Bring friends or go alone?

Due to last-minute plans, I went alone!

I have been with friends, and both times were pretty solid. It’s great to have someone to tag along with but for content purposes, it was better for me to go alone!
