Chandra Alilijah discusses building her first event as a small business owner

Hosting your first event is the ultimate creative challenge

So, we’re having an event…

But we signed up for this?

6:23 Detroit Shop is hosting their first Junk Journal Workshop next Friday, and babes, we’re ready to tackle this party.

Let’s Get Into It

Planning the details

What started as a crazy idea transpired into a real thing.

Honestly, I am shocked. I am honored but also shocked to be able to have this event.

I have to thank God because this is all his work; I am just the vessel.

I’ve been having this vision for almost a year now. It was an idea that is now blossoming.

How am I doing it

Placing the idea into perspective with my highest ability.

Taking risks, building behind closed doors for ultimate execution. While I am documenting the journey, I am also waiting to post the process.

I truly believe that, since this is my first event, I need to focus on the event itself, not just the content. Like, yeah, we’re going to make content throughout the event, but right now I have so many other items to gather.

Little Chan is screaming

If you know me, you know that I’ve always been a crafty person since I was a little girl.

This is a love letter to her, from always buying new machines, cardstock, paint, fabric, and even bits of ribbon.

Your love for crafts is about to shock the world in the best way possible.

And honestly, I thank my mom for always believing in my creative side. Without her, I wouldn’t be able to write this post. She’s the root of it all.

Thank you, Mom, always.

So, what’s next

Right now, I am gathering it all together.

Creating, still planning bits, adding details, and just ready to show up and show out, duh!

This is a Chandra Alilijah party, so expect me to do the most. In the best way possible.

I don’t have boring parties, I don’t throw wack events, and it’s just time to show my ability to stand on my own. As a small business owner, I know what I am doing.

I’ve been having events before I called them events. I’ve thrown vision board parties for friends, hosted picnics for my cousins, and they were amazing.

This is going to be amazing.

Thank you to everyone

I want to say thank you to Rivertown Meijer, Nikoleta and her team, my guest, and of course, my family for their support.

Yes, I am early, but they saw a vision, and now it’s just time for me to execute it as a boss.

Let’s do this thing.
