A Chandra Alilijah poem about being a beautiful Black girl

a real pretty girl by. C.Alilijah

Protect your crown at all times.

With a beautiful soul

She’s not for everyone

And that’s what makes her gold

Her power lies beyond just her mind

It’s in her name, her walk, her tongue, her heart

She’s a force to be reckoned with

But she doesn’t force herself

On no one

God always positions her crown

Make sure it stays upright

Held high

She keeps her head held high

Not too high that she loses sight

But high enough to fight

To ignite

Something you can’t ignore

That’s a Black woman for you

Very careful and intentional

Especially when she knows her rights

Her body dripped in gold

Bronze and so sweet

She’s gorgeous and oh so unique

I love my skin

It shines regardless

Choco latte

A very yummy treat

Rich in favor and beyond the contrary

She’s truly a delight, and that’s just her beauty

A very pretty girl with a pretty soul

With love,

C.Alilijah
