The sporadic decision to move your room on a random Thursday

Sometimes a change of scenery helps.

I did it.

It was a lot.

I love it, though.

Let’s Get Into It

It really started with my sleep pattern

I realized I slept better on the other end of my bed.

Sleeping by a window in the summer is fine, but in the winter, I woke up with a sniffle every morning. It would go away, but I didn’t like waking up feeling congested.

Plus, the sleep felt more meaningful. It was almost as if the sounds outside my window were disturbing my peace. Even the faint sounds.

The drastic move

It was Wednesday night when I decided my room needed a change and a new feel.

I am already sleeping at the foot of my bed…

“Why not just move the bed? DUH!”

That meant my whole room had to change.

I don’t have a lot of space, but I have enough space. So, I thought.

It was a system

I got off work around 1ish, had lunch, and got busy.

The first step was removing my clothes and shoes. Plus my purses and random items.

I realized… ya girl got too many random items.

Next was the furniture. Mind you, I have limited space.

I had to put items in boxes just to move the furniture!

Under my bed? Don’t get me started! Shoe boxes, paint, more shoe boxes!

Random teddy bears and water bottles!

I gotta do BETTER.

The first move

I moved my bed to portrait mode and thought I was set. Only to realize, my bed was never set that way because it made my room even smaller! No space.

Just a bed and a desk! No room for my clothing rack!

Nor my bookshelves… that totally don’t carry books.

Alright, let’s move the bed landscape, aka the way I enjoyed sleeping anyway.

Where is my dresser going? She needs to move too.

This is when it got chaotic.

The dresser did not fit in my ideal space for it. I hated it (or did I)

So, I moved the bed again… I know… I know

The bed moved back to portrait mode because I needed to see if I liked the dresser in its new corner…

The router box is in my room, and the evil red light is beaming.

I jacked up the wifi cord

Girl bossing too hard and crashed my dresser into the SPF jack or something cord and … Oh my.

That went on for an hour, I had a long call, and slightly ruined my Friday shopping trip because now I gotta wait on the tech guy to replace the cord.

At least I got temporary wifi tonight. Shout out to JB, he truly was iconic.

A side quest mission and cake

Tonight was also my little cousin’s birthday, so I hung out at his house for a bit and sang Happy Birthday.

I grieved my stress over the yummy birthday cake my little cousin made.

As I write this, something just fell in my *newly rearranged room.”

SIGH.

Chile, let me just go to bed.

The aftermath

Welp, I decided to move my room around back landscape, aka the original idea I had anyway…

Considering I realized in portrait mode, I had no space for any of my furniture anymore.

Gosh, it’s time for my own apartment, but after looking at all my stuff. How would it even fit?

Would I bring my bookcases? My 20 cameras or my random pairs of platform boots.

Who am I kidding? I definitely would bring the platform boots.

How would they fit?

Anyway, I am happy

My room is semi-cluttered but organized, and looks cool. The tech guy still has to come out, and I may have to drive a few kiddos around tomorrow for another side quest, but at least it’s FriYaY.

Rearrange your room,

It’s easy!

*secretly screaming*

With love,

C.Alilijah
