C.Alilijah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>I gave you a <a href=\"https:\/\/chandraalilijah.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/06\/springing-into-our-power\/\" type=\"link\" id=\"https:\/\/chandraalilijah.com\/index.php\/2026\/05\/06\/springing-into-our-power\/\">journal prompt<\/a> about this.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, it&#8217;s time for me to describe my coffee shop date. My ideal version. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We&#8217;ve had enough solo coffee dates; it&#8217;s time to invite others!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Let&#8217;s Get Into It<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Who is this for<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather, you&#8217;re inviting friends, coworkers, potential mates, or even old connections; this is for you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Well, kinda sort of. I am writing about a potential mate, to be specific, but I&#8217;ll try to be inclusive. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Is it the first date<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I am not mad at having coffee as a first date because not only do I think it&#8217;s better than meeting over dinner, but I LOVE COFFEE. Well, kinda. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am a conversationalist, and I would rather get to know you over coffee than pasta. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, if we were to meet over coffee as a first date, I would not be mad at you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, when it comes to the location, I can toss out a few ideas, and you can lead from there, unless you love coffee shops as well and want to share one with me! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Will we just get coffee<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I truly believe a great date isn&#8217;t overly planned, yes, show interest in me, and impress me, but I like those dates that end up being really fun and long, even though they weren&#8217;t planned.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, I am not saying we need to stroll at the park all day, but after the coffee, maybe let&#8217;s go to a museum, or a gallery. Have questions, you want to ask your &#8220;potential mate&#8221; or your boyfriend. If you want to know more about their hobbies or childhood, have them bring a tool of their hobby or an item from their childhood, and ask for a story about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dress nice plz<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, sure, the coffee shop isn&#8217;t a five-star restaurant with chandeliers and fancy dishes, but you can still look nice. It doesn&#8217;t have to be Sunday&#8217;s best, but it can be something sweet and chic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>What would I wear?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Let&#8217;s leave that to surprise; I would hate for my potential coffee date partner to know what I am wearing. Just know, I always dress like I have cool plans later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Be ready to talk<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I think one of the biggest keys to meeting at the coffee shop is not being afraid to talk. I don&#8217;t go out with anyone I haven&#8217;t had a conversation with yet, anyway, because that&#8217;s a standard of mine. I need to know something about you. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Be yourself, have some questions to ask, but don&#8217;t treat it like an interview.
