Alilijah"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Spring cleaning. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Switching clothes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The breakup, I never saw coming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What do you do when you fall out of love with the clothing that once carried you through various seasons?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the most heartbreaking moment of 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Those dang 20-somethings<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019ve been following along on my 20-something&#8217;s adventure, you would know that I\u2019ve been having a lot of \u201coh my\u201d moments. Whatever that means!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today was the day to bring out my spring and summer clothes and put away my winter garb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve also started reading a book about developing style and having better shopping options. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The book told me to challenge myself to clean my closet, the typical get rid of the old that I no longer like, and figure out what to do with what I do like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While I only read chapter one (I know, I know), the impact it has had on me is crucial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s been less than four hours, and I am STRESSED!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Graphic tees are becoming pajama shirts <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Because why would a 25-year-old Chan walk around in a Rugrats tee?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s so weird because a part of me feels like I am falling in love again with things I once enjoyed. Another part of me feels like I am falling out of love with fashion, people, and concepts that I stood by. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While I love my Five Below shirts with the snarky sayings and characters I adore, I don\u2019t want to wear them anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And it wasn\u2019t because someone told me not to, it\u2019s a personal choice. I don\u2019t see it fitting my current style. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am kinda torn because I feel like I spent so many years building my style for it to change overnight. I am not mad at it, but my current style doesn\u2019t match my old summer CLOTHES!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Miniskirts were MY BRAND<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Now\u2026 I hate them. It shouldn\u2019t be hard to put new looks together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I know what style I am heading towards, but I am sad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Growing up feels good, but\u2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>It also feels like another part of me is going away. Which is a good thing, I am no longer that 21-year-old who wants to wear graphic tees and printed mini skirts with knee socks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But why do I feel like I am breaking up with her, too? I mean 21-year-old Chan was a beautiful young lady, and we\u2019ve had our moment of \u201cIt\u2019s okay&#8221;, but now I don\u2019t even like her clothes?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The clothes she spent years curating at H&amp;M, the thrift store, and her local shops.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>College me is just paraphilia now.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Then I am saving items for my \u201cfuture daughter\u201d<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, she needs a 2020 SHEIN skirt in the year 2040?!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wait till she sees my vintage blazers. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am saving items for these \u201cfuture kids\u201d that don\u2019t exist, and I am giving away items that I used to love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">It\u2019s okay <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Twenty-five has been a game-changer for me. She\u2019s eye-opening, testing, and very much a \u201cmoving forward\u201d type of player.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A lot has happened to me in this chapter, not bad things. No.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All has been lessons and blessings. Lessons that say, \u201cYeah, keep going\u201d or \u201cYeah, you\u2019re just maturing now. It\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The journey has been beautiful, hard but beautiful, because I\u2019ve learned so much about myself, I\u2019ve been able to come back to myself, <em>and I love it<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">So, to my closet <\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Those clothes carry so many memories. A part of so many photoshoots, but they\u2019re just clothes. They don\u2019t own me, they don\u2019t define me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think it\u2019s actually beautiful. I am breaking up with that girl who loved those tees and miniskirts because I am evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And that doesn\u2019t mean that down the line, I won\u2019t wear another graphic tee or mini skirt.
