The modern-day struggles of a 25- year old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a degree. I am using it. Not in a \u201ccorporate space,\u201d but I am using it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Have the brand, I am working on it. But you need the money to support the brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you do when both actually need to coexist with each other?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s Get Into It <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

After college blob <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I did the internship, and didn\u2019t land a full-time job until a few years after.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in the job market, two years later. Kinda.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A two-pager resume, pretty stacked with skills. I am experienced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Am I too experienced, though?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do I need a master\u2019s degree to seal the deal?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Did the \u201cold school\u201d route of just getting my bachelor’s work out, though?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do I need a master’s?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The brand saga <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I like creating a small business, this brand from scratch. It\u2019s a project with moving pieces, all curated by me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Does the brand fit my current needs?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are they? <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, bills, credit cards, and student loans are typical 25-year-old junk mail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you do when business isn\u2019t paying the bills, but you really want the business, and corporate says they\u2019re hiring, you may be too qualified for the entry position and underqualified for the leadership position because you don\u2019t have \u201cfive-plus years\u201d of experience?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I could pray<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Yes, I went to church today to find a piece of hope, to gather my thoughts, get closer to God, and feel a bit of relief.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s helpful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, I walked out still in my retail job, still have bills due, and don\u2019t know what\u2019s next\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I totally know bills are due.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bills, bills, bills!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I should\u2019ve become a therapist, but that just meant more bills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I should\u2019ve gotten that master’s, but I am over with school life, no more busy work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another title means another bill, and boy, we’ve got too many!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Can\u2019t afford to add on any. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maybe I should pray<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s been a year, and some change, and life feels like I am moving like a caterpillar, except I am the caterpillar who gets her wings, then goes back into a cocoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am a butterfly, though (occasionally).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have reset moments. Is it bad? I am 25, and I guess this is the best time to try to figure it all out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The majority of my 20s were working jobs and trying to build 6:23, maybe 25 is that year. Well, 26, because I am preparing for a birthday in a few months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Twenty-five has been good to me, a true gem of growth and age. It\u2019s been difficult in a sense of feeling like I need everything to be together, but maybe that\u2019s the beauty of 25.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The last year of feeling like you\u2019re stuck and accepting you\u2019re not stuck, you\u2019re just progressing into the next chapter of adulthood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I like brand building<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Building my own brand isn\u2019t easy and comes with risks and challenges, but I like it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s teaching me that good things take time, and to build longevity, you can\u2019t rush. You need to research, test, and try a few times again. It\u2019s okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Especially when you know God isn’t failing you, he\u2019s giving me a playground to try new things, test them, and see if I like them. See if I find peace while doing them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The concept of peace<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Growing up, we\u2019re taught that education and money are the true definition of \u201cwinning \u201d in life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To be \u201crich\u201d in materials means you\u2019ve done something right. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

What if you\u2019re rich in spirit, though, because you\u2019ve found the concept of peace instead of the highest-paying job?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dwell on that for a bit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today\u2019s church service expressed the importance of calming your mind and finding peace by knowing God has you covered. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ironically, my guidebook talks about finding peace by knowing the Lord has already figured the situation out and wants you not to worry or be anxious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Do you know how I felt when I heard that <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

At peace. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I felt at peace because I knew God woke me this morning, put it in my mind to get up and go to church to confirm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No, I am not a frequent Sunday churchgoer. The past year was my first time going as an adult because I wanted to get to know church for myself. It\u2019s still a process, and I am trying my best to find comfort in church.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve only been to two, and each was completely different, which was unique to me. The experience has been less about finding the \u201cperfect church home\u201d and more about giving time to God publicly in a setting other than my personal space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As an adult, I\u2019ve truly had to develop my own relationship with the Lord because I believe in him and I know he\u2019s covering me. He\u2019s giving me strength beyond to give my testimony out-loud, but fueling me as a vessel to let you know –<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Your time is coming. <\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s near. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was reassured of that today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As I said, my daily guidebook has been saying it. It\u2019s been explained to me, but hearing it out loud from a stranger (guest pastor) on the day I went to church felt different. It felt like a sweet whisper from the Lord saying, \u201cYou\u2019re where you need to be, my daughter, don\u2019t worry, don\u2019t stress, don\u2019t be anxious, I got you.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So, what\u2019s next<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

No, we don\u2019t sit and wait or ponder.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We still apply and execute our skills. Rewrite the cover letter, edit the website, research new skills, develop new ideas, and keep applying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rather, it\u2019s knowledge, creativity, or inspiration; keep applying ourselves. Whatever path we\u2019re meant to take, God has already prepared the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pay attention, listen to the whispers, and know what truly brings you peace; you will know what to apply your utmost energy to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The job or the brand <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It doesn\u2019t matter what route you take. What matters is the joy you\u2019re having, the peace that\u2019s been made, and the maintenance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enjoy learning and researching your craft? Do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having fun creating new ideas for a company and working with coworkers? Do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Love the drive and concept of building your own? Do that.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

God places us in positions that bring us peace, happiness, and prosperity. If it\u2019s not from God, you will know. You\u2019ll never find comfort in it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Don\u2019t get mad at your timeline. You\u2019re never behind; no one can take your place. No one can be you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re the only person who can get you where you need to be. Especially when you have God as your guide, he\u2019s waiting on you to catch up; he\u2019s waiting on you to create a connection with him. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ultimate connection, the reference who doesn\u2019t expect anything in return. The mentor who pushes you to higher ground, not just listens. He gives high-quality instructions for free.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You have to call on him. His phone is always working, and he\u2019s waiting on you to make that first appointment so he can give you that first step.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make two steps, he makes six.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What are we waiting for?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s step into Monday knowing we\u2019re blessed and be grateful for the blessings God has given us, and for the ones he\u2019s already taken care of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re a powerful being. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
