{"id":6429,"date":"2026-01-15T21:18:32","date_gmt":"2026-01-16T02:18:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chandraalilijah.com\/?p=6429"},"modified":"2026-01-15T21:18:51","modified_gmt":"2026-01-16T02:18:51","slug":"washington-dc-was-the-road-trip-of-my-dreams","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chandraalilijah.com\/index.php\/2026\/01\/15\/washington-dc-was-the-road-trip-of-my-dreams\/","title":{"rendered":"Visiting Washington D.C. was the road trip of my dreams"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-pullquote\"><blockquote><p>Think back on your most memorable road trip.<\/p><\/blockquote><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In 2019, my college newspaper had an opportunity to attend an event for journalism students across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We drove from Michigan to Washington, D.C. in less than a day and it was amazing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was my first time on a road trip, going away for a  few hours. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The drive was through Ohio and Pennsylvania, and I was able to see the mountains, which was an iconic view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My ears constantly popped through the mountains, but it was a surreal feeling. I hadn\u2019t experienced that before, either.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wrote in my journal, I listened to music, and I took naps!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We stopped a few times for bathroom breaks and to grab food. The pit stops were unique and different to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It was a fun trip, an experience to not only celebrate journalism but also visit again and see something unique. We toured the former Newseum, a museum dedicated to news.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s a road trip I would love to do again with my family, friends or future boyfriend.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The scenery is what really got me.
